Uefa Quarter-finalsThe Uefa cup quarter-finals first leg games have conclude with two of the home teams winning. One of the games ended with a zero-zero score, while one away team won with a final score of 3-0. The team AZ Alkmaar stays undefeated at home in recent European competition. The visiting team of Werder Bremen goes into the favorite’s home field and is able to force a draw 0-0. The other match between CA Osasuna and Bayer 04 Leverkusen, resulted in a win for the visitor, with the score of 3-0. Ca Osasuna Playing in their first European quarter-final, made their quest to the Uefa cup a reality. They will go home to play the second leg on April 12th. The third game of this quarter-final was played in Spain as RCD Espanyol hosted Benfica of Lisbon, Portugal. The Barcelona club came out strong in front of their home crowd, and scored 3 times with the first goal coming at 15 minutes into the game. It seemed all hope was gone for the Portugal team, but in the second half Benfica scored two quick goals with two minutes at 63 and 65 minutes of the game. This will give Benfica a change to move into the next round by winning in Lisbon in the second leg which will also be April 12th. The last game of the first leg was won by Sevilla FC with a score of 2-1. Tottenham Hotspur FC goes back to London to play the second leg. The one goal in Sevilla by Tottenham hopefully will help them to move into the next round, but first they must beat a very explosive Sevilla team.
