The crowd was alive and the action was there. Switching back and forth with the lead, both teams sought out victory. Manny Ramirez continued his under appreciated outfield expertise, and his hot bat, and continued his streak, as Lugo tried to bat out of his slump, and Big Papi continued to play in pain with his injury. The ninth inning came and out was 6-5 Blue Jays. Javier Lopez had two men on, with two outs, and struck out Lyle Overbay. Quickly, the crowd was jumping and cheering, and chanting the legendary, "Let's go Red Sox" chant. Julio Lugo came up to the plate, struggling at the plate all season. He managed a single into right-center, and the next batter Pena struck out. Dustin Pedrioa came up to plate and made the pitcher Jeremy Accardo really stretch his arm, working him to a full count as Lugo stole second. The crowd cheered madly, and they walked him. Taking charge, Jeremy quickly disposed of Ortiz, and Manny came up, almost grabbing another hit. But they fell short. It was an intense, exciting night, that unfortunately ended in being only their 35th loss.
