Draft Day
By Orlando Morais

The Renegade Fantasy Football owners meet on
Saturday September 4th to start the draft for
the coming football season, which will start
this Thursday September 8th.
The
owners also had some old business to conclude
from the previous season.
The most important one was the awards
ceremony, in which the owners get to take the
trophies for their teams accomplishments for the
previous year 2004.
The Super
Bowl winner for the year 2004 was the team
Eagles Wing.
Eagles
Wing beat the Cruisers owned by Mr. Ravanis to
take the Big trophy.
The owner of Eagles Wing Orlando Morais
accepted the trophy and was excited for his
team. Eagles Wing got knocked off the play-offs
last year by Mr. Carl DeVito owner of the
Crusaders, and in the
year 2002 finished last and was awarded the
Toilet Bowl trophy.
The draft started around 10:30am and went
very well, all the owners had to learn some new
rules for the 2005 draft, as the League became a
keeper League for the first time since it
started, this meant each owner could keep up to
three players form last years roster.
After
everyone got their paper work ready and got
their favorite snack and beverage, the first
round started with a time limit of 2:00 minutes
per pick for the first 10 rounds. Later rounds
the time limit was 1:00 minute per pick for a
total of 18 rounds.
I think everyone came out of the draft
thinking their team would be the one that would
take the Big trophy for the year 2005. One of
the teams to watch for this year I believe is
Ragen Cagens owned by Mark Newton, which in my
opinion improved his team the most from the
previous season.
Sleeper player of the draft was Ryan Moats a
rookie running back, which might be a surprise
to all this year.
I wish every one success and let the games
begin. |
