The day started early in
the morning with a very pleasant drive into
Boston. The ride on Rt. 93 South was great
because I was with my two kids Derrick and
Tyler, and we were going to a Kids Nation
Holliday Party.
We arrived at Fenway Park at 10:00 am, we
parked the car at a nearby lot and walked
across the street to an already line of kids
and their parents, who were waiting to get
into Game On, a Sports Caf and bar, which
is were the party was being held, with Wally
the Green Monster as the Special guest.
The first 200 kids at the door would get
a change to get their picture taken with
Wally the Green Monster, and yes we were in
top 150th kids in line.
The doors opened exactly at 11:00am and
everyone was greeted by a very friendly and
helpful staff, who told everyone as they
walked in Game On, as to where all the
various events where located throughout the
Caf.
On the Top floor there was a wonderful
catered breakfast, and also there was face
painting and balloon art.
On the bottom floor is where a lot of the
events were happening. There was of course
Santa Claus, lots of large TV screens
playing music and videos, there was also Ben
and Jerrys ice cream, a DJ who was playing
the music and also raffling out some game
balls from the Red Sox games, as me and my
son Tyler were walking downstairs we heard a
number being called out, and YES sure enough
we had a winning ticket in our hands. Tyler
who is 8 years old got so excited that he
ran to the DJ with his hand up in the air
saying , I got, I got
it!
Every one was cheering and clapping, as
they did for all the winners. Later on we
got to meet the chimp and his owner who
performed great sports activities for the
kids.
Another treat for the kids was the Red
Sox trophy was on display for them to view
and take pictures along side the trophy.
The party was filled with lots of music
and games for the kids to enjoy, my other
son Derrick who is 10 years old got to sing
a Christmas song and won a game on hat.
As the party was near the end the guest
of Honor arrived to a big cheer from the
kids and the parents. It was Wally the Green
Monster the mascot for the Boston Red Sox.
As promised the kids got their picture taken
with Wally, and the picture was printed
right there an then for the kids to take
home as a gift.
I would like to say that this was a great
event for the kids, and Im sure for the
parents also. I think its a good way to
keep kids interested in the sport of
baseball and to have a little fun at the
same time. More
